This Privacy Policy explains what information LiteScroll.com ("LiteScroll", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at https://litescrolls.com, the LiteScroll SEO Crawler, the LiteScroll SEO Inspector Chrome extension and any Pro SEO Audit enquiries.
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form or email us, we receive the details you choose to provide. This typically includes your name, email address, website URL, the topic you select and the content of your message.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting server automatically records basic technical data when you load a page. This can include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time of the request.
We use these logs to keep the site secure, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. Logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or rotated.
URLs submitted to the SEO Crawler
The LiteScroll SEO Crawler is browser-based. When you enter a website address, that URL and the publicly available pages it links to are fetched and processed to generate your SEO report.
The report covers public on-page data such as titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, canonical tags and indexability signals. We use the URLs you submit only to produce the report and to operate and protect the service. Please do not submit pages that contain personal or confidential information.
The SEO Inspector Chrome extension
The LiteScroll SEO Inspector runs its page-level analysis in your browser. It reads the page you are viewing to show metadata, schema markup, keywords and heading structure. The extension does not sell your data, and it is not used to track your browsing history for advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website runs on WordPress, which may set essential cookies, for example to remember a comment author or support logged-in administrators. These cookies are needed for the site to work.
We do not currently run advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, such as a privacy-friendly analytics tool, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Third-party services
Google Fonts
Our pages use fonts provided by Google Fonts. When your browser loads a font, it connects to Google servers, which receive your IP address and standard request data. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Hosting and email
Our website host stores site data and server logs on our behalf. Messages you send through the contact form are delivered to our email inbox. These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
How we use your information
- To reply to your messages and handle Pro SEO Audit requests.
- To run the SEO Crawler and generate the reports you ask for.
- To keep the website and tools secure, including preventing abusive crawling.
- To fix bugs and improve our tools and guides.
- To meet legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — running a secure website, operating our tools and responding to enquiries.
- Contract — taking steps at your request before agreeing a Pro SEO Audit.
- Consent — for any optional cookies or analytics we may add later. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep certain records.
How long we keep data
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. Crawl data is kept only as long as needed to generate and deliver your report.
Your rights
GDPR and UK GDPR
You may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make any request, email hello@litescrolls.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS encryption across the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
LiteScroll.com is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
External links
Our guides link to other websites, such as official documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our tools or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
